World Cerebral Palsy Day
At The Speech Centre, we’re aware of disability every day of every year- We’re aware of it because we know we can help, not because we see it as an obstacle or a limiting constraint; perhaps you could say we’re aware that there is “undiscovered ability” more than there is disability.
In our eyes the problem lies with those who don’t make themselves available to help those who have so much more potential than they are currently able to achieve. So, on days like today- World Cerebral Palsy Day- we jump even higher at the chance to offer our services, help and expert advice that we have developed and nurtured, along with many clients, for over 20 years.
Sadly, many people are still under the impression that those with speech impediments, dysarthric speech or any other difficulties with vocal communication, can not make the most of speech recognition software. In fact, the extent of this assistive technology stretches to cover 99% of those with speech difficulties- including those resulting from Cerebral Palsy.
For anyone who can make it to our office, we offer a free assessment. During an assessment you will be able to sit down with one of our experts and try out the various products that we provide. We will then tune in your voice to the software so that it is able to recognise your voice and optimise its performance.
Within half an hour to an hour you will have found out: How the software works and if, why and how it will work for you. You are under no obligation to continue any further with us after an initial assessment but if you feel that what we can offer will be beneficial to you then we will be more than happy to discuss the options with you during the meeting or at a later date.
If you can’t reach our office then we can still assess you as our trainers are more than happy to assess you at home, at work or wherever else is easy and comfortable for you.
